Preview Notes:
From the telltale
design elements I would swear this is a Claude Oakland Eichler, but its
not. Pickled ceiling tongue and groove planks, globe lights, atrium
design, and even the A-Frame roofline are all elements of this Eichler
inspired custom home in Los Gatos. The give-away is that the windows do
not go floor to ceiling and this is a perimeter foundation instead of a
slab. Yet, you could enjoy and update an open floorplan mid-century
modern home at a much lower price than you might pay for an Eichler!
MLS Photos:
This house has great potential, and in a sense you get the “best” of both worlds – an Eichleresque looking home, but one with a more traditional foundation which should ease the cost of any remodels.
There are some downsides to this house as well:
– The Master has a small bathroom, and is short on storage space in spite of a smaller walk in closet. Due to the layout of the house, it would be hard to improve this aspect of the home. The Master is where the reality that this home is 1800 sq feet shows.
– The backyard is shallow due to the size of the lot.
– The smell of smoke in the home is not awful, but clearly present and unpleasant. The house probably had occasional smoking inside.
